Lyle James Strasser, 98, of Sigourney, died Sunday November 29,
2009 at the Manor House in Sigourney. He was born August 3, 1911
near What Cheer to Irwin and Ida White Strasser. He attended What
Cheer High School. On February 25, 1936, he married Nellie Marie
Struble in What Cheer. They lived and farmed near Keswick for many
years, and moved to the Sigourney area in 1958. He worked for
Strohman John Deere, Starry Implement, Kingsbury Homes, the
Sigourney School District, and drove a school bus. He was a member
of the Lancaster Christian Church, and served on the church board.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie on January 20, 1992,
his parents, a son LeRoy Strasser, a son-in-law Howard Sanner,
daughter-in-law Irma Strasser, seven
brothers, Hank, Marion, Marvin, Morris, Cleo, Warren, and Sylvan Strasser, two sisters Ruth Sparrow, Esther Koch, and a
granddaughter Juanita Mathews.
He is survived by two daughters Delores “Dee” and her husband Don
Barnhart of Oskaloosa, Donna Sanner of Chariton, two sons LaVerne
and his wife Kathy Strasser of Hamlin, Larry and his wife Joann
Strasser of South English, many grand, great-grand, and
great-great-grandchildren.

Friday at 10:30 A.M. at the Lancaster Christian Church
