LaVinnia  M. Vogel

  LaVinnia M. Vogel, 89, of Sigourney, died Monday October 27, 2008 at the Sigourney Care Center in Sigourney where she has been a resident since September. She was born May 22, 1919, the only child of William J. and Anna Becker Peiffer of rural Sigourney. She grew up on the family farm west of town, attending a rural school in her primary years and graduating with honors from Sigourney High School in 1936. After graduation she worked as a dental assistant for a local dentist, until she was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Vogel on February 14, 1943 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McCook, Nebraska. She was employed at Hayesville Savings Bank and also was a clerk for many farm and antique sales for many years. She volunteered many years for the American Cancer Society and was a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society.
  She is survived by her son Dan and daughter- in-law Paula of San Antonio, Texas. a grand-daughter Victoria of LaQuinta, California, a grand-son Douglas and wife Melissa of New Braunfels, Texas, two great-grand-daughters Stoli and Kinsley.
  She was preceded in death by her husband her parents.

Funeral Service Friday 10:30 at St. Mary Catholic Church Sigourney
Visitation Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.  Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at the Holm Funeral Home Sigourney

The family request gifts to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
