Evelyn Margaret
Weber, 91, of Sigourney, died July 1, 2008 at the Keokuk County
Health Center in Sigourney. She was born July 25, 1916 in Clear
Creek Township to Nick R. and Clara Mersch Sieren. She attended
school at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Clear Creek. On
January 8, 1936 she married Henry Anton Weber at Ss. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church. They lived and farmed east and south of Sigourney
and moved to Sigourney in 1974.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary
Society, Church Women United, Lords Pantry, delivered meals on
wheels. Evelyn was Vice president of Keokuk County Historical
Society, a historical society quilter, and was a Stick-To- It 4 - H
leader for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry on December
5, 1997, son James Weber, grandson Richard Weber, granddaughter
Amanda Simmons, two brothers Forrest and Clarence Sieren, two
sisters Anna Weber and Luvina Bayliss.
She is survived by her sons Robert and wife Bonny Weber of Keota,
Ronald and wife Carolyn Weber of Sigourney, seven daughters Patricia
Osterhoudt and friend Harley Hurd of Cottonwood California, Linda
Bell of Elkhart, Indiana, Roselyn and husband Bill Egan of
Burlington, Holly Martin and husband Mark Haupert of Sigourney,
Sandra Johnson of Washington, Cynthia and husband Curt Paulsen of
Oskaloosa, and Ramona Weber and friend Jeff Winn of Sigourney, 27
grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren. Four brothers Harvey Sieren,
LeRoy Sieren both of Hedrick, Howard Sieren of Ottuwma, Fremont
Sieren of Sigourney, two sisters Rosella Bayliss of Keota, Isabelle
Beinhart of Sigourney.
Funeral Service
10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney
Visitation 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the church where a Prayer
Service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established.
