Charlotte Louise Kirkpatrick Fagen went to be with Jesus on Thursday Morning, March 12, 2015. She was born to Edward L. and Rovena (Fry) Kirkpatrick, in Keota, Iowa, on March 1, 1918. Charlotte and Walter Fagen Jr. were married February 15, 1936 and celebrated fifty-two years of marriage. Her husband preceded her in death on September 4, 1988.
Charlotte always liked to travel and had an adventurous spirit. In Alaska she set the record as the oldest person to zip-line on the world's tallest, longest and fastest zip-line at 91 years of age. She parasailed at 92 and has visited all 50 states plus several other territories and countries. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
Charlotte is survived by seven children; Ann (Richard) Kerkove of Sigourney, Joan (Mike) Clement of Preston, MN, Connie (Wayne) Eggleston of Pocahontas, AR, Ed (Maggi) Fagen of Oskaloosa, Wini (Mike) Frances of Washington, IN, Mary Joyce (Denny) Johnson of Omaha, AR, and Peter (Sarah) Fagen of Oceanside, CA. Thirty-two grandchildren, eighty-two great-grandchildren, and twenty-six great-great-grandchildren. She leaves a total of 147 direct descendants.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Thelma, brother-in-law John Hayes, All of Walter's siblings and spouses, and daughter-in-law Jennie (Ed) Fagen.
Funeral: Saturday 1:30 p.m. at Holm Funeral Home
Visitation: Friday 5:00-7:00 at the funeral home.
Burial Garrett Cemetery near Delta.
Memorial gifts will be directed to Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch or Hospice in Keokuk County
