Daveta Yvonne “Bonnie” Yoder, 90, died February 20. 2022 at the Manor House in Sigourney. She was born Friday March 13 1931 to Virgil and Mignon Bales at Lancaster and grew up in Ollie. She was the older sister to LaRue and Kenneth. She graduated from Ollie High School. On December 2, 1951 she married James Edward Yoder in Ollie. Bonnie was employed at Bales Nursing Home, Sigourney Care Center as a housekeeping, The Garden Gate and later helped her grandsons Tyler and Wesley deliver newspapers. Bonnie enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants, feeding and watching the birds, cooking the best dishes around, cheering for her kids and grandkids in their sports. She was a member of Aspasia Chapter #198 Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim September 17, 1985, grandchildren Tyler, Travis, Tisha, and Tessa and her brother Kenneth Bales.
She is survived by her children Greg Yoder of Branson West, Missouri, Vivian (Chester) Bridges of Cadiz, Kentucky, Ross Yoder (Kathryn Sherman) of Sigourney, Clark (Jean) Yoder of Washington, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, her sister LaRue Kephart of Sigourney, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Keokuk County Historical Society and Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa.
