David Seibel

James David Seibel, 59, died April 21, 2008 at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born September 21, 1948 to Frank James and Dorothy Marie Ragen Seibel in Ottumwa, Iowa. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1966 and later graduated from Drake University in 1970. During his high school years he was a swim team coach at Sigourney and North English pools, a lifeguard and taught swimming lessons to many children in Sigourney.

On May 16, 1987 he married Jody Krier in Delta, Iowa. He was employed at Job Service of Iowa in Ottumwa and in 1975 he transferred to the Iowa City office. He worked in the unemployment insurance department before his retirement in 2004. Dave and Jody moved to Ottumwa in 2006.

David enjoyed reading, traveling, camping and cooking for his family and friends. He enjoyed writing about his travel excursions and loved all types of music.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister Cynthia Ann Seibel.
He is survived by his wife Jody Krier - Seibel of Ottumwa, mother Dorothy Seibel of Sigourney, many friends and family.
