Denise K. Wright, 67, died June 25, 2018 at the English Valleys Care Center in North English, Iowa. She was born November 21, 1950 to Derald E. and Ruth E. (Stephenson) Wright. She grew up in Webster and graduated from English Valleys Community Schools. Denise attended University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a degree in social work. In 1984 she married David Willis of Clinton. They lived in Florida and Oregon before returning to the Sigourney area. They later divorced.
Denise spent her career providing counseling service to the families and countless children. She found it to be an honorable and fulfilling use of her energies. For the last 10 years it was Denise’s joy to assist in the planning of the annual town of Webster reunion. The reunion has drawn more than 100 Webster former and present residents each year to gather and share memories and appreciation of the incredible experience of growing up in that small town. In addition she enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, reading and music. She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Webster United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth (Butch) Wright of North English, niece Julie Christine Wright of Portland, Oregon, nephew Jeffrey (Paula) Wright of Ramsey, Illinois, and Justin (Meghan) Wright of Fort Worth, Texas
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Wright, and fur babies Sasha, Makenzie, and Abbey Rose.
Memorials may be made to the Webster United Methodist Church, Webster Town Reunion, or an animal welfare organization of your choice
