Donald Richard Clarahan age 84 passed away peacefully Sunday, April 3, 2011 in Sigourney, Iowa with his beloved family by his side. Don was born on the family farm North of Harper February 13, 1927 to the son of the late Richard Joseph Clarahan and Veolet Suzanna Sondag. He farmed most of his life and worked for Nutrena Feeds. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Army for two years and a life member of the Knights of Columbus in Harper, and a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Ronald Dean Clarahan, daughter Sheryl Jean Clarahan, sister Mary Kathleen Adam Duwa, nephew Phillip Clarahan and great-nephew Bradley Korthaus
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Arlene Evelyn Sheesley, four sons; Robert Clarahan and wife Marcia of Columbia, Mo, Raymond Clarahan and wife Annette of Sigourney, IA, Randy Clarahan and wife Sue of Copley, OH, Rodney Clarahan of Seymour, TN and one daughter Mary Ann Allison and husband David of Liberty, TX. Sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers; Charlie Clarahan and wife Jane of Iowa City, Paul Clarahan and wife Eileen of Marion, and one sister Marietta Smeaton of Davenport.

Burial to follow at the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Cemetery in Harper, IA.
