Frank (Sonny) Claude Jacobs, 86, died May 7, 2016 at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, Iowa. He was born March 7, 1930 to John Robert and LaRue Gwendlyn Moore Jacobs. He attended Webster school. On March 10, 1950 he married Evelyn Mary Peiffer at the Methodist Church parsonage in Sigourney. He worked at Hammes Sawmill, for Jim Wemer and later Harry White at Case IH. He purchased the dealership in the early 1960's. He owned and operated Jacobs Implement until 2005. Frank was a member and former president of the Eagles in Oskaloosa, the Keokuk County Taxpayer Association and United Methodist Church in Sigourney. He enjoyed his and Evelyn's weekly Saturday night dates of dancing, music, gardening, going on walks, family vacations, telling jokes, and eating Evelyn's home cooking. Frank loved his family, kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and, brother Robert Jacobs.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn of 66 years, Joyce Ann Jacobs of Sigourney, Frank (Sheila) Jacobs of Spearfish, South Dakota, Sheila (Larry) Gould of Webster, Sandra (Jeff) Redlinger of Sigourney, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild, 3 brothers William (Bill) Jacobs of Bryant, Iowa, Alan Jacobs of Arizona, Richard (Dick) Jacobs of Florida, 1 sister Donna Berrier of Swisher, Iowa, several nieces and nephews.
