Geraldine Cavin

Geraldine Bertha Cavin, 90, died October 1, 2023 at the Manor House in Sigourney. She was born June 17, 1933 to John C. and Clara Buch Weber near Clear Creek, Iowa.  She attended school at Clear Creek, Porter, Lancaster country schools and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1952. On July 24, 1954 she married Anthony John (A.J.) Cavin at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. They lived and farmed East of Lancaster for many years. Geraldine was employed by Iowa Employment Security Commission and the Hayesville Bank. She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on June 23, 2016 two grandson Clint Cavin, Zachary Deitrich two great grandsons Charlie Deitrich, Billy Cavin Berry, two brothers Richard and Alvin Weber, two sisters Lorena Bair, and Marie Snakenberg.

She is survived by her three daughters Sandra (Mike) Hammes of Coralville, Jane (Ronnie) Deitrich of Cedar Rapids, Linda (Dennis) Johnston of Ottumwa, two sons Andy (Bonnie) Cavin of Sigourney, and Dan (Jae) Cavin of Hayesville, many grandchildren,  great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, two sisters Carol Weber and Connie (Mike) Stabala.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary Sigourney Altar and Rosary.
