Herold Ladely

Herold Orlan Ladely, 84, died January 9, 2017 at his home in rural Sigourney. He was born May 30, 1932 to Clayton and Margaret Wolf Ladely in Chariton, Iowa. He graduated from Deep River High School and he married Bernadine Harris. Herold was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Once returning home from service he farmed and worked as a mechanic at the Landmark and Mid-America truck stops. He lived in Williamsburg until 1973 and he moved to the Sigourney area. He married Janalene Clubb and they later divorced. Herold later worked at Carter Steel in Oskaloosa, drove truck for Linn Trucking, and owned his own truck. On May 30, 1980 he married Alice Good Ingle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jim Ladely, first wife Bernadine, seven sisters, and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife Alice of Sigourney, children: Bruce (Teresa) Ladely of Sigourney; Anita Gorsh of Williamsburg; Joe (Sherry) Ladely of Delta; Cheryle (Jeff) Nelson of Fairfield; Shelly Jean (Jimmy) Richey of Eldon; Joni (Charles) Rhoades of Germanville; Jan Fredrick of Webster; Edna (Brett) Payne of Oskaloosa; Brian (Kathy) Ingle of Hedrick; Dave (Missy) Ingle of Ollie; Laurie (Mike) Hornback of Hedrick; Scott (Cathy) Ingle of Ollie; and Kerri (Curt) Schwartz of Sigourney, 31 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and a brother Marvin Ladely of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Visitation: 4:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday Holm Funeral Home
