Janet Sue Hinrichsen, 69, died February 2, 2014 at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born January 26, 1945 to Roscoe and Jesse Bess Griffth in Mason County, Kentucky. She graduated from Franklin Local High School in Locast Grove, Ohio. She married Gene Criswell they later divorced. Janet was employed by the FBI in Washington D.C. She moved to Iowa, lived in Fremont and later Fairfield. She graduated from Indian Hills Community College and worked for Jefferson Co. Mutual Insurance Company. On November 12, 1983 she married Thomas Hinrichsen in Anamosa, Iowa. They lived in Sigourney all of their married life. Later she worked at Schott Implement, and the White House.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Keaton Garrels.
She is survived by her husband Tom, children Suzanne (Ron) Garrels of Farson, Ted Criswell of Batavia, Becky Criswell of Kilbourn, Kim (Mike) Criswell-May of Danville, Ted Hinrichsen of Cedar Rapids, Robin (Dane) Wheeler of Port Charlotte,
FL, Theresa (Steve) Harrison of Cedar Rapids, Marcy (Mark) Clark of Cedar Rapids, Ben (Missy) Hinrichsen of Anamosa, 27 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, two sisters Patty Kohler, Judy Pennington and a brother Roscoe Griffith.
