Janet Stichter

On Wednesday, May 17, 2017 Janet Elaine Stichter went to be with the Lord. She was born May 15, 1950 in Sigourney, Iowa to Joe and Henrietta "Hanky" (Wilkening) Greene. She attended Sigourney Community Schools, graduated from Mercy College of Nursing in Des Moines, and became a registered nurse. She had a long career as a nurse working at several facilities including the Osteopathic College in Des Moines, the Ottumwa and Sigourney hospitals and the Keota Community Schools. She also taught nursing classes at Indian Hills Community College for over 10 years and worked as a pharmaceutical sales rep for G.D. Searle.

Janet had two daughters, Angie and Sadie, with her first husband, Don Wiley. She married Randall James Stichter in 1985 at their home in Sigourney. They had a son, Jonathan.

Janet loved spending time with family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was known for sharing their accomplishments with others, cheering them on at their sporting events and staying up to date with all of their activities (including staying current with Facebook and learning how to take selfies). Janet always looked forward to the Greene family reunion over the 4th of July, listening to Randy sing and play the piano for family, and winning at card games. She was a wonderful homemaker. Janet's number one priority in life was praising and worshiping her Lord. She will be remembered by many as someone who effectively and fervently prayed for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Randy, her children; Angie (David) Voydik of Beaverton, OR, Sadie (Mark) Greiner of North Liberty, IA, Jonathan Stichter of Columbus, IN and his fiancée Angie Strobel, her grandchildren; Kaleb, Mackenzie and Kolby Greiner and Daniel Voydik, and eleven brothers and sisters; Susan (Steve) Barnett, Mike Greene, Pat (Pam) Greene, Mary (George) Mejaes, Tom Greene, Rebecca (Renee Quiazon) Greene, Linda (Jeff) Rutgard, Amy (Ed Perkins) Greene, Jack (Terry) Greene, Carol (John Vineyard) Greene, and Twyla (Blue) Dahlstrom.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the United Methodist Church
Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney
Visitation: 4:00-7:00 P.M. Monday at the Holm Funeral Home
A memorial fund has been established.
