Kathy Alice Nicola Grant died December 7th 2022 in Newton, Iowa. Kathy was born December 30th 1942 in Sigourney, Iowa to Clifford  Nicola and Alice Isminger Nicola. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1960 and went to work at Sigourney News review. There she met her husband James W. Grant and married him on February 2, 1964. They have one daughter Stephanie. Kathy worked several years as secretary at Sigourney Chamber of Commerce. She also worked as a secretary at Sigourney Methodist Church and the Sigourney News Review while Stephanie was growing up. Also she reported the Keokuk County news for KBOE radio. She loved writing articles of interest in the county for the Ottumwa Courier. In her later years she was well known as the librarian at the Sigourney Public library and she enjoyed this very much. She started and organized the craft show in Sigourney for several years. She was part of Kings Daughters and severed on the board of Keokuk County American Cancer Society as well as a member of the Keokuk County Expo Board.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, infant brother and sister Judy (Ralph) Bruns.

She was survived by her husband James of Newton, her daughter Stephanie (Kenny) Molyneux of Baxter, grandson Wyatt Molyneux of Baxter, granddaughter Olivia (Joseph) Kreitzinger, great-grandson Easton of Baxter and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
