Lois Marie Fogle, 90, died August 12, 2024 at the Manor House in Sigourney. She was born August 13, 1933 to Elmo and Maxine (Smith) Lowry in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She attended school in Oskaloosa. She worked at the Sunshine Center Laundromat in Oskaloosa. On September 29, 1951 she married Kenneth Fogle at the Methodist Church in What Cheer. Lois was a military wife and homemaker moving around the country to where ever Kenneth was stationed at the time. In March of 1964 the family moved to Sigourney. As her children grew older she would work at the Fairlane Motel in Sigourney, being a cook at the Manor House and the Sigourney Elementary School. Lois was a member of the Sigourney United Methodist Church, women’s VA auxiliary in Sigourney, she was a Girl Scout leader and a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed traveling with Kenneth and together they went to 22 states. Other things she enjoyed was going on family vacations, shopping, and going to the casino. She loved spending time with her family, having girl’s days with her daughters and going to her grandchildren’s activities. Lois’s hobbies included: reading, sewing, collecting spoons, cooking, canning and polka music. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Paulette Wehr, son-in-law Robert Wehr, granddaughter Natasha Wehr, grandson Derek Long, siblings Thomas Lowry, Gerald Lowry, Charles Lowry, Elaine Whitten, Phyllis Zickel, Sandra June, and Odra Fisher.

She is survived by her husband of over 72 years Kenneth Fogle of Sigourney; daughters: Brenda Long of Pella, Crystal Fogle of Kansas, DeAnne (Jeff) Brinning of Kansas; five grandchildren: Nickolas Wehr, Jill Wehr, Erik Wehr, Tiffany Budding, and Jeremy Brinning; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be give to the Keokuk County Hospice Foundation.
