Lora Lee Sellers, 88, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the Manor House in Sigourney, Iowa. Born on November 26, 1935, in Sigourney to Homer and Grace (Goeldner) Strupp. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1954. On June 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to Jack Lee Sellers at St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church in Sigourney. She embraced being a farm wife, nurturing both her family and the land. Lora Lee’s work extended beyond the farm; she also worked at Cooke Drug, later working at Oshkosh B’Gosh at the Tanger Mall, and served as a cook at the Sigourney Schools.
Lora Lee found great joy in quilting and was well-known for her scrumptious sour cream twists. The holidays were a special time for her, as she delighted in decorating her home and filling it with flowers, bringing joy and beauty to every season. Throughout the years she was a member of the Friendly Sixteen Club, Retired School Personal, Bethel Methodist Church, Sigourney Baptist Church and was a 4-H Leader for Stick-To-It Club.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Sellers, son James Sellers, her brother Floyd Strupp.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Naomi) Sellers of Sigourney, Don (Christie) Sellers of Sigourney, and Charles (Tanya) Sellers Sigourney, and her daughter Brenda (Brian) Smithart of Altoona, daughter-in-law Crystal Sellers of Winterset. Lora Lee also leaves behind a legacy of love through her ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, each of whom she adored and loved.
