Louella Louise Bower, 80, died January 9, 2017 at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born October 2, 1936 to Levi Linden and Ila Muriel Gosney Bower near Webster, Iowa. She graduated from Webster High School in 1954. After graduation she helped on the farm and drove school bus. In March of 1957 she moved to Sigourney and she worked at the Overall Factory in Oskaloosa and later Greenlee's Nursing Home in Sigourney. Lou later was a cashier and bookkeeper for her dad Levi at Home Oil Station from 1962-1978. In September of 1983 she started to work in housekeeping at the Sigourney Care Center and later earned her CNA certification and retired in 2007 after 24 years. Lou enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Terry Bower, one sister Nancy Bower, two brothers Lynn and Albert Bower.
She is survived by her daughter Dana (Kenneth) Porter-Grimm of Sigourney, three grandchildren Alan Porter of Sigourney, Kristina (Nathan) Alter of Mankato Minnesota, and Kortney Porter of Australia, one great- grandchild Brandon Alter, one sister- in- law Marjorie Bower of Sigourney and many nieces and nephews.
