Maxine Holm, 82, of Sigourney died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Manor House in Sigourney. She was born September 7, 1929 in Oskaloosa to Liston and Fern Marie Smith Koogler. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School. On June 4, 1948 she married Mark William "Bill" Holm at the Nazarene parsonage in Oskaloosa. After they married they lived in California for a short time before returning to Osky. She worked at the telephone office and Dr. Collison's office. In 1965 they moved to Sigourney and started Bill & Ray's Chyrsler-Plymouth, where she worked closely with Bill until the dealership was sold in 1989. After retiring they enjoyed being snow birds in Texas for many years. She was member of the Keokuk Co. Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, sewing quilts, and was a excellent cook and teacher. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
She is survived by her husband Bill, three daughters Jeni (Jeff) Hammes of Sigourney, Melanie (Dave) Hammes of Harper, Sue (Jerry) Morse of Dousman, WI, six grandchildren Seth, Joe, Jesse, and Sara Hammes, Kayla and Bailey Morse, two great-grandchildren Riley and Ryann Hammes, a sister Ruth Newell of Oskaloosa, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Don and Fred Koogler.
