Nancy Louise Krier passed away at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief battle with lung cancer on August 7, 2010. She was born on March 15, 1939 in Omaha, NE the daughter of H. Boyd and Jeanette Vittetoe Paulson. Nancy settled with her family in Sigourney, Iowa as a teenager. She graduated Sigourney High School in 1957. She graduated from the University of Iowa as a radiology technician. In 1956, Nancy met Carroll D. Krier. They were joined in marriage on December 20, 1958. Nancy and Carroll settled with their family in Cedar Rapids in 1973, where she became a homemaker. Nancy was active in bridge and book clubs, and enjoyed reading, cooking and playing Nintendo.
Nancy was survived by her husband of 51 years, Carroll; her daughter, Kathleen Moorehead and granddaughters, Megan and Melissa, of Maple Valley, WA; her son, Craig Krier, and daughter, Amy Krier, of Cedar Rapids; her brother, James B. Paulson (Janette), as well as many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Paulson Storm. Her family is grateful for all the support from loved ones at this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, the Mission of Hope in Cedar Rapids, and the American Cancer Society.
Graveside services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Pennington Cemetery south of Sigourney, Iowa.
No visitation.
