Oscar Lemley

Oscar Eugene Lemley, 88, died June 1, 2024 at the English Valley Care Center in North English, Iowa. He was born February 7, 1936 to Oscar and Delena Brown Lemley in Carthage, Missouri. He attended school in Nauvoo, Illinois. On August 13, 1960 he married Shirley Phipps in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Oscar worked at a rock quarry in Rock Island and moved to Washington, Iowa and he worked at Crane until he retired. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son Charles Lemley, daughter Betty Jane Lemley, granddaughters Janie Marie Ryder and Amanda Pruitt, three sisters Genevia Knight, Edna Price and a baby in infancy and a brother Leo Lemley.

He is survived by his children Delena (Lowell) Ryder of Webster, Mary (Jason) Collins of Parnell, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and his sister Viola Allen.
