Robert Byers

Raymond Robert Byers, 76, died Thursday October 22, 2020. He was born September 30, 1944 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Raymond Howard and Evelyn Elizabeth (Wonderlich) Byers. He graduated from Fremont High School and attended William Penn University and the University of Iowa. After graduation from the University of Iowa he was the youngest person in the state of Iowa to pass the CPA exam. On November 26, 1969 he married Nancy Marie Bradshaw in Ottumwa, Iowa. Robert served in the United States Army Reserve for six years. He was a business executive in accounting for many companies and farmed in southeast Iowa including the family century farm in southern Keokuk County. He was a member of the Prairie View United Methodist Church and the American Legion in Ollie. Robert was an avid hunter and enjoyed Hawkeye sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of Ollie; daughters Kelli (Sean Ottey) Clark of Seattle, WA; Jennifer (Brandon) Corbin of Chapel Hill, NC; four grandchildren Alexander Corbin, Oliver Corbin, Zachary Ottey, Emma Ottey; sister Susan (Randy) Sieren of Fremont. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Prairie View United Methodist Church

Funeral Service

The funeral service will be outside, weather permitting, at the Prairie View Methodist Church. Private family service if the weather is inclement. 1:30 p.m. Tuesday November 3, 2020
The service will be live streamed on Holm Funeral Home Facebook page.

Drive-Thru Visitation Monday November 2, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Prairie View Methodist Church.
