Robert L. Pitsch

Robert Leroy Pitsch 81 died August 18, 2019 at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney. He was born June 5, 1938 to John Lillig and Lucina Theresia Hein Pitsch at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1957.  On June 18, 1960 he married Jo Anne Cook at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.  Bob was employed at Century Motors and later owned and operated Sigourney Body Shop from 1982 – 1992. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Windthorst  Council 1457 of Harper,  Sigourney Jaycee’s, Indian Hills Board of Directors from 1988 - 2013. Bob enjoyed singing with the Wapello Chiefs, restoring automobiles, peddle cars and metal toys; collecting gas station memorabilia, antique hunting/picking and traveling to visit his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Robert L. Jr. (stillborn), two brothers Joe and Herb Pitsch and one sister Betty Ferguson.
He is survived by his wife JoAnne, and children Nicholas Pitsch of Manassas, VA, Regina (Keith) Loney of Prairie du Chien, WI,  Jenni (Mark) Stelter of Pella, Tony (Yvonne) Pitsch of Sigourney, David ( Rhonda) of Springfield, OH, Jeremy (Angela) Pitsch of University Place, WA. Eight grandchildren Isaac Tueke, Laurel Stelter,  Soren Stelter, Easton Stelter, Alek Pitsch, Brigette Bates,  Savannah Pitsch and David Pitsch.
