Sharon Elaine Hauschild “Granny”, 77, of Hiawatha, died April 2, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born March 8, 1948, to Purdy and Orna (Rudser) Volden in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In 1966 she graduated from high school in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Sharon was a housewife and a stay-at-home Mom for her three boys while they were growing up. On August 13, 1993, she married Gary Hauschild in Alburnett, Iowa. She was employed at Kwik Star as a food demonstrator.
Granny was a true matriarch to the family; she enjoyed every moment she could spend with her family and friends. If you knew Sharon, you would know her love for all things Giraffe related. She also thoroughly enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking and baking for anyone she could, her infamous pumpkin rolls and cherry pie will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary Hauschild, and brother Larry Rudser. She is survived by her sons Alynn Mundell of Hedrick, Aaron Mundell of Des Moines and Andy (Jenny) Mundell of West Branch, Gary’s daughters Katie (Todd) Pearson of Des Moines and Elsa (Kevin) Hirl of Jones County, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and sister Mary Ellen Blanchard of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
