Trudy Sheetz

Trudy Jolene Sheetz, 72, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023 while at her home in Sigourney, Iowa. She was born on April 1, 1951 to Don and Winifred Caviness in Packwood, Iowa. She came from a large family and was one of ten children that included seven sisters and two brothers.

Trudy attended Pekin High School. During her first marriage she became a mother of two boys, Milo in the summer of 1969 and Troy in the fall of 1973.

On December 7, 1979 she married Mark Sheetz. Mark and Trudy moved to Nederland, TX in 1982. She had another son, Bryce, in the spring of 1983. She finally got her baby girl, Kimi Jo, in the fall of 1984. Mark, Trudy and Kimi moved back to Sigourney in 2000. Trudy was the Manager at Walk'Er Drive Thru for many years.

Trudy was very intelligent, passionate and talented at practically everything she attempted. She loved to crochet and knit and blessed many friends and family members with her beautiful creations. Her birthdate was very fitting as she had a great sense of humor and was always pranking others. She loved bowling, gambling, reading and playing trivia, but her grandkids were her true pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Liles.

She is survived by her husband Mark; her children Milo (Jen) Miller, Troy (Chay) Miller, Bryce (Devin) Sheetz all of Colorado, Kimi (Mike) Hernandez of Sigourney; her grandchildren Brayden, Jacobi, Charli, Ari, Milo, Nadia, Dawson, Rigley, Aubrey and Camryn;her siblings Diane Johnson, Donald Caviness, Margaret McVay, Myrna Newcomb, Rita Erickson, Tim Caviness, Judy Sobaski and Sheila Peck; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lisa  & Amey at Essence of Life Hospice for their loving care.

Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
